The Kansas City Chiefs are usually a team that has a lot of strengths, but one NFL expert is pointing out a weakness.
The Kansas City Chiefs aren’t a team known for their weaknesses. With multiple Super Bowls under their collective belt over the past few years and stars such as Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce in the fold, it would be tough to make an argument for this being a weak team. But, the reality is that no NFL team is perfect, and that includes the Chiefs.
So, the Chiefs aren’t perfect, and if they want to make it to the big game again next season and actually win it this time, they still have some work to do. Of course, head coach Andy Reid is one of the greatest coaching minds in the NFL, so he’s been working hard to perfect the team’s lineup during the offseason. That’s good news, but there’s still some work to be done.
There’s actually one big “red flag” that the Chiefs have heading into the new season, and they’ll have to work on it if they want to remain a contender.

The Kansas City Chiefs are just a few months away from the official start of the NFL season. In a Wednesday, June 25, feature for CBS Sports, NFL analyst and expert Cody Benjamin names the biggest red flags for 2025 NFL contenders, including the Chiefs.
“Adversity is part of the championship journey, and some of the league’s top projected contenders for 2025 have their fair share of potential weaknesses,” he notes in the piece.
For the Kansas City Chiefs, that one red flag is “offensive line stability.”
In the piece, he says that while the Baltimore Ravens “just need their front to stay healthy,” it’s a different situation for the Chiefs, who he says “may or may not have a title-caliber line at all.”
“That was clear as day in Super Bowl LIX, when the Philadelphia Eagles tore them to pieces, rendering Patrick Mahomes a nonfactor,” he adds. “Now All-Pro interior man Joe Thuney is gone, and two new faces occupy the present and/or future of left tackle, with rookie Josh Simmons and former San Francisco 49ers prospect Jaylon Moore tasked with protecting Mahomes’ blind side. That’s a fair amount of pressure for unproven blockers.”
So, that’s something for the team to work on going into the new season, and they will. You know Reid won’t let this slide.
